Welcome to Diamond Doug's Children's Wish Foundation web page. Doug has been fortunate enough to be asked to work with the Foundation several times. From seeing a very sick boy in the hospital to performing and helping at different events. His involvement opened his eyes to the wonderful work the Foundation does and how important their work is. To put a smile on a sick child's face during a very dark time is an amazing feat. Diamond Doug has vowed to do anything he can to help this worthy cause. If you would like to talk to him about the foundation please feel free to e-mail him at ddoug@mts.net. If you would like to donate please use the link to go directly to the CWF site at www.childrenswish.ca.

people in their lives.
Values

The high quality of our wishes will be maintained by paying
attention to
detail in meeting the children¹s requests and ensuring their satisfaction.
Volunteers and donors are integral to The Foundation¹s
work. We promise to
use their resources wisely and with integrity of purpose.
We cherish the national character of our organization and will
ensure our
activities reflect the needs of the communities across Canada.
As lay-persons we will establish and maintain a complementary
working
relationship with the medical community.
We will conduct our activities with a high degree of professionalism,
integrity and compassion at all levels.
We remember our beginnings with respect and will uphold our

A traffic jam broke out during rush hour at Char and Vic's
Ranch CWF
trail ride in Inwood Manitoba.

Here is one heck of a hand and one of the two hosts for the
Inwood ride,
Victor Dziedzic. (Charlene was back at the ranch workin' her tail off).

the
Woodland's CWF Trail Ride. Mark's wonderful family was in attendance.

The creative folks at the Children's Wish Foundation had a little
different fundraising walk this year. It was a Treasure Hunt held at the
Historic Forks in Wpg. The Diamond was happy to help out and participate in
the fun. He also whipped up this terrifying character by the name of 'Green
Beard'. The event was a shipload-o-fun for a great cause!

- Poetry -

The picture showed a contented boy
With golden locks and smile
Full of life at home on his range
Just down that country mile
That was when the sun rose on Mark
The disease hadn’t taken hold
When throwin’ catch twine with his brothers
Was life for the fifteen year old
Stark contrast to the boy lying in bed
With golden locks no more
Tied to a snaked IV and a oxygen mask
With the Nurse’s station out the door
His Children’s Wish was the greatest show
The world famous Calgary Stampede
Broncs, bulls, dust and cowboy’s blood
All the best of the rodeo breed
However Mark is way too sick to go
His frail body starts shutting down
Sometimes wishing just isn’t enough
When you wear a hospital gown
His parents keep a loving bedside vigil
Caring for his every need
The Doctors & Nurses do what they do
Failure they will not concede
The folks at The Children’s Wish Foundation
Do their best to grant a happy face
So a Cowboy Poet with a Randy Travis call
And a Stampede package is their ace
It does the trick and Mark gives a smile
Under his clear oxygen mask
To lighten a heart in a darkened time
Is a very daunting task
Well Mark left us for home in Heaven
Where God will grant his wish
To rope and ride at the Calgary Stampede
An event he’ll never miss
And once again he’s that boy in the picture
With golden locks and smile
Full of life at home on his range
Just down that country mile
